Seb Morris and Struan Moore both climbed the BRDC Formula 4 Championship podium during the final event of the 2013 season at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit over the weekend, 28th/29th September, to end the year third and ninth respectively in the driver standings for Hillspeed.

Jersey teenager Moore capped off a highly competitive final few race meetings in F4 with a superb runner-up spot in the penultimate race of the campaign, round 23, finishing just 0.7 seconds shy of his second race victory.

Beginning the encounter from pole position, as a result of finishing eighth during the first race, Moore led away from the front and although under pressure he didn’t put a wheel wrong – opening a lead of 1.4 seconds by the end of the fifth tour.

Three laps from the finish, Charlie Robertson was in a position to attack and at McLeans he made his move to edged Moore back to second place. Sticking with the new leader, the Hillspeed driver wasn’t quite able to force a mistake and took the flag on lap 12 right in Robertson’s wheeltracks. The duo ended the race over five seconds clear of the chasing pack.

Added to his fourth podium of the season and his top eight result in race one, Moore ended the final weekend of the campaign with a ninth place finish in round 24. Ultimately, he concluded the season just 12 points shy of the championship top eight.

Although not able to add further rostrums in the two remaining races, Morris did score essential points with eighth position in round 23 and claimed another top 10 in round 24 to cap off a highly successful season.
