OLLERENSHAW THANKS DRIVERS FOR ENJOYABLE 2014 CAMPAIGN
Three championships, eight months of racing and thousands of miles covered from circuit-to-circuit, the 2014 motor racing season was another enjoyable and successful one for front-running sportscar and single-seater team Hillspeed.
As the year rapidly draws to a close and the plans for next season begin to fall into place, team principal Richard Ollerenshaw wishes to express his thanks to the drivers who raced with the team in 2014, as well as gratitude to Hillspeed’s long-standing partners and suppliers.
“Although it wasn’t a year where we were ultimately able to challenge for championships, we were fortunate enough to work with some fantastic young prospects and we’re very hopeful of continuing the great work we started with them into 2015”, said Ollerenshaw.
“Once again next year, Hillspeed will be fielding multi-car teams in BRDC Formula 4 and Ginetta Junior and we’re also currently discussing a couple of opportunities with drivers in other popular national categories.”
As race winners in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship with Brazilian driver Gustavo Lima, Hillspeed also enjoyed front-running consistency with Malaysia’s Rahul Raj Mayer and marked improvement from Mexico’s Alfredo Zabalza.
In Protyre Formula Renault, Dimitris Papanastasiou was a consistent top six finisher in his first season in the category while in the British Touring Car Championship-supporting Ginetta Juniors, young teenagers Harry Mailer, Benjamin Wallace and Pedro Cardoso all developed strongly.
“On behalf of everyone at Hillspeed, I want to say a huge thank you to the drivers we worked with in 2014, their families and, of course, our many suppliers”, added Ollerenshaw, “Everyone helped to make the year a thoroughly enjoyable one – roll on 2015!”
